Eami is a thirty-something mom who is so full of energy and excitement. Our time together on the set was so special. She showed us how important it is to have a cheerful and happy spirit all the time. There are certainly no dull moments with this lovely mom.

DAISY: How many children do you have and what are their ages?
EAMI: Two. One is three years old, the other one is two years old.
DAISY: What are your favorite hobbies and/or types of community service you serve in?
EAMI: I enjoy reading and going to the shooting range. I attend JIL Henderson Church.
DAISY: Walk us through what your mornings look like getting everyone ready for the day:
EAMI: I brush my teeth, jump in the shower, shampoo hair and use children's body soap for myself and my kids. I'm always in a huge rush so I air dry my hair, draw on my eyebrows, clump on some mascara and throw some blush on to make my face look awake. Then I try to find the most un-wrinkled, clean piece of clothing that fits to wear to work.
DAISY: Do you know how to use hair irons (ex: curling iron, flat iron and/or heat rollers)?
EAMI: Yes.
DAISY: How do you typically style your hair on a normal day?
EAMI: Combed is the extent of my styling.
DAISY: When was the last time you received a haircut from a salon professional?
EAMI: It was less than one year ago.
DAISY: Do you know how to apply makeup?
EAMI: Yes.
DAISY: How do you typically apply makeup on a normal day?
EAMI: I draw on my eyebrows, wipe some blush on my face, and put mascara on.
DAISY: How much time do you think you need each morning to get yourself ready?
EAMI: 30 minutes including the shower.
DAISY: When was the last time you made time for yourself?
EAMI: Date night last Saturday.
DAISY: What do you feel needs improvement with your current style and look?
EAMI: I don't know how to dress my body. I'm still not used to my postpartum body so I just wear whatever fits.

Before becoming a mom, I lived a completely different life. It all changed when one of my good friends committed suicide and I felt an emptiness that I couldn't fill. I attended a bible study and was prayed for by my pastor and I literally felt the presence of God and felt a sense of peace come over me. That peace was so amazing that I surrendered my life to God and everything changed. I graduated from college, married my boyfriend, bought a house, started an awesome career and had two children in the span of five years.
God gave me everything I could ever want. He granted all the desires of my heart. I feel this everyday so I feel guilty about wanting to look pretty/put together. I mean how superficial right? Big picture, what does it matter? I already spend too much time at work and my husband and children get such a small amount of time with me, why would I take time away from them to do my nails/eyelashes/working out/shopping/makeup? I should spending time with what really matters.
The mom guilt is real. Old me was stylish, skinny, always wearing heels, perfect hair, and polished nails. If she could see me now, she would definitely be judging the cracked eagle claws that I am allowing to peek through my sandals. Old me was the girl my husband fell in love with yet I pulled a bait and switch on him and he ended up with a frumpy wife. On my most days I pray to God and He tells me I am made in His image and I feel better. On certain days I look in the mirror and I pray that one day I could recognize the person staring back at me.
