Gosh, if there was anyone that radiates when she walks into a room it's definitely Monica Young. Monica is vibrant and full of light with her smile and persona. I had fun behind the scenes with Monica and hearing about her son and husband and how much she adores them.
She deserves every bit of this makeover after dealing with health complications and a dreaded gallbladder surgery. Monica is also one of our influencers! Let's watch her transformation now…
Monica Young Interview:
DAISY: Do you have any children? If yes, how many children do you have and what are their ages?
MONICA: Yes – I have one 12 year old
DAISY: What are your favorite hobbies and/or types of community service you serve in? I love scrapbooking
MONICA: I love dancing and I love reading
DAISY: Walk us through what your mornings look like getting everyone ready for the day
MONICA: I get up early in the morning and take a shower. (I have) no time for make-up, because I need to feed the dogs and make food for my husband and son. My husband works from home and my son is homeschooled. I leave for work and have little time for pampering myself.
DAISY: Do you know how to use hair irons (ex: curling iron, flat iron and/or heat rollers)? No
DAISY: How do you typically style your hair on a normal day?
MONICA: Take a shower and let it dry after combing hair and put it in a ponytail or headband
DAISY: When was the last time you received a haircut from a salon professional?
MONICA: Less than 6-months ago
DAISY: Do you know how to apply makeup?
DAISY: How do you typically apply makeup on a normal day?
MONICA: I do not typically apply makeup – lip gloss and sunscreen are my only routine
DAISY: How much time do you think you need each morning to get yourself ready?
MONICA: 10 minutes
DAISY: When was the last time you made time for yourself?
MONICA: 6 months ago
DAISY: What do you feel needs improvement with your current style and look?
MONICA: I need to have my eyebrows and I need to find clothes that fit me. I have been losing weight and I'm still wearing the same clothes.
DAISY: What's your unique story?
MONICA: I have been so busy with work and dealing with sickness – I got my gallblader removed, and after that, (experienced) some complications. I do not have time for myself and I am over due for some “grooming”. (My) eyebrows look like the star of Frida Khalo and I know I could use some make-up but I look like a clown when I apply it. I need to get out of (my) yoga pants and find clothes that fit my body. I am overly conscious and wear loose clothes to hide my muffin top. I am a mess. [BUT] I want to be a HOT mess!
DAISY: What positive changes have you felt or experienced when you've fixed yourself up?
MONICA: I feel motivated and pretty. I feel I can accomplish more when I feel pretty!
